Events & Activities

We organize several public events each year. These events aim to bring together legal professionals, academics, and policymakers to discuss pressing issues in African legal studies. Through lectures, statements, and panel discussions, we address critical topics such as human rights, international law, and constitutional developments in Africa, offering diverse perspectives on these complex legal challenges. Additionally, the association offers training seminars designed to enhance specialization and professional development in the field of African Legal Studies.

Annual Conference The flagship event of our association, this conference brings together leading experts, scholars, and legal practitioners from around the world to discuss critical issues facing African legal systems. Topics range from human rights and environmental law to constitutional reform and governance.

Webinars and Seminars Regular webinars and seminars are held throughout the year to facilitate discussions on specific topics of interest to the African legal community. These events provide a platform for deeper learning and engagement on topics related to African law and justice.

Networking Events We also organize networking events where students, professionals, and academics can connect, collaborate, and share ideas. These events are a great opportunity for those interested in African Legal Studies to expand their networks and enhance their careers.

Participation Fees and Membership Support

We are committed to reaching as wide an audience as possible through our events, particularly students, early-career researchers, and practitioners interested in African legal issues. To ensure that these groups are not hindered by financial barriers and to encourage meaningful dialogue with a broad range of participants, we do not charge participation fees.

However, we would like to remind you that providing free access comes at a cost. Therefore, we rely on your support. To help sustain our work, we have developed a supporting membership program. By becoming a supporting member, you help us continue to offer these valuable events and initiatives. As a supporting member, you will receive confirmation of your participation in our events (proof in accordance with § 15 FAO) for professional or academic purposes.
